Frankfurt Travel Information

In the centre of Europe, Frankfurt’s 4.8 million inhabitants live in a dynamic city. Its position in the Rhine Valley region offers fantastic opportunities for exploring glorious countryside and many sporting activities.

Running through the city, the banks of the River Main have a lot to offer. Cyclists and inline skaters have recently discovered the views and promenades of the banks and joined the pedestrians and roller skaters. The so-called Museumsufer (museum bank) represents a unique cultural achievement that enhances the charm of the river’s landscape.

Frankfurt’s dramatic skyline of modern office buildings is a sign of its standing as one of the first financial centres in Europe.

But Frankfurt is not only an economic centre of excellence, it offers many cultural activities worthy of such a modern city.  It has 37 museums, 109 galleries, 33 theatres and more than 50 cinemas.

With such a busy city comes innumerable bars, cafes and restaurants – it’s no surprise that international cuisine is easy to find – and as well as other attractions such as a zoo, palm gardens and parks.

International specialist shops in shopping streets like the Frankfurt Zeil and the Goethe Route make a city stroll an experience to remember.
